 "Chasing vacuous fame as if it's something in itself just isn't remotely fulfilling. This obsession must be fought against." Twenty-five-year-old violinist Nicola Benedetti thinks about every word she says incredibly carefully. It's no surprise as, since she won the BBC Young Musician Of The Year Award in 2004 at the tender age of 16, she's been in the spotlight. She caused a minor media stir in 2007 when she criticized the cult of celebrity in classical music (and with it some of her fellow soloists) and has always been very outspoken in her views. Hugely articulate and with a passion for music education it's clear she's a musician with a soapbox.

Supreme Beings of Leisure are an electronic/trip-hop band. Current members of SBL are Singer/Songwriter Geri Soriano-Lightwood and Multi-Instrumentalist/Programmer Ramin Sakurai. SBL was formed from the remains of the band Oversoul 7 in 1998 when they signed to Palm Pictures.


In 1996, Oversoul 7 came together as members Geri Soriano-Lightwood, Ramin Sakurai, (Bassist)) Kiran Shahani, and (Guitarist) Rick Torres released “Nothing Like Tomorrow” and “What’s the Deal” on two compilations on the Moonshine Music dance label.

Bonobo, the stage name of Simon Green is a British musician, producer and DJ. Bonobo uses a wide variety of samples in his music combined with heavy, often complex basslines. His music generally develops linearly - with new elements such as basslines or percussion coming in one after the other. In Days to Come, he mixes this sonic background with the clean yet distinctive vocals of Andreya Triana & Bajka, who often uses harmony to build up a multifaceted sound.

Because of Jimi's impromptu homage to the recently disbanded
Cream the show ran over its allotted time and subsequently
caused a massive uproar at the BBC.

The band were never booked to perform on the channel again.

BBC Sessions is an album of recordings by the rock group
The Jimi Hendrix Experience, released on MCA Records on June 2, 1998.
It contains all the surviving tracks from their various appearances
on BBC radio programmes...

The album also includes the only two surviving Hendrix UK TV
soundtracks (both BBC) Late Night Line Up ("Manic Depression"
only survives) and the 1969 Lulu Show (complete).
